“As per South African legislation, domestic workers should work no more than 45 hours a week, and should not work more than nine hours a day if they work a five-day week, or more than eight hours a day if they work for more than five days a week”

“A domestic worker is entitled to 4 types of leave, namely: sick leave, annual leave,  family responsibility leave and maternity leave. Annual Leave: Domestic workers are entitled to three weeks’ leave per annual leave cycle.”

Interesting fact, “Employees who are classified as domestic workers include housekeepers, gardeners, nannies, domestic drivers and in South Africa, are governed by Sectoral determination 7 of minimum wages for domestic workers.”
